Historic Print #08: Robert Grider's Deuce at El Mirage (1947)
Robert O. Grider of the Eagle Rock Trompers entered this Deuce at El Mirage on October 19, 1947. He normally ran in Class C but for this meet switched to Class B with ’39 Ford power. His go fast parts included Edelbrock heads, a Navarro intake and Eddie Winfield cam. Of the 103 entries, he was way down the list with a speed of 102.04 mph. Doug Hartelt was king that day with a speed of 125.34 mph.
